About the event

¡Celebramos México!

September 16 celebrates the moment when Father Miguel Hidalgo called for Mexico's independence from Spain in September 1810. Known as the "Grito de Dolores", it was the start of the 11-year Mexican War of Independence. It resulted in Mexico gaining freedom from Spain after being under colonial rule for over 300 years. In commemoration, each year on the night of September 15—the eve of Mexican Independence Day—the president of the republic shouts a version of “el Grito” from the balcony of the National Palace in Mexico City: “Viva México! Viva la Independencia! Vivan los héroes!”

Join us for this tradition, as we curate a feast of Mexican delicacies.

Doors open prompt at 5pm for a 1 hour cocktail reception with live music from Trio Mariachi Tepatitlan.

Ticket includes:

*Welcome drink (choice of one: sangria, beer, or non-alcoholic cocktail)

*One hour reception with live music from Trio Mariachi Tepatitlan

& stationed appetizers

*three course dinner (communal seating) with

main course of CHILE EN NOGADA- Mexico's most patriotic dish!

Our version is a poblano pepper stuffed with ground beef and pork, fruit, topped with a walnut sauce and pomegranate.

Legend says that chiles en nogada were invented by the Augustinian nuns of the Santa Monica Convent in Puebla, to celebrate the signing of the Treaties of Cordoba over 200 years ago. Its seasonal ingredients represent the colors of the Mexican flag, and is exclusively served during August through mid-September. It is the perfect entrée to celebrate Mexico's Independence Day.
