About the event
The holidays continue... January 6 is Día de Los Reyes, Three Kings Day. Almost like a second Christmas, young children will receive gifts from the three kings on the morning of the 6th. Rosca de Reyes, is a soft orange-flavored sweet bread that’s traditionally made in Mexico to celebrate Epiphany. The oval-shaped cake is beautifully decorated with brightly colored candied fruits, representing the kings’ jeweled crowns. The traditions surrounding the cutting of the cake are the most entertaining. In Mexican tradition, 1 to 3 baby figurines representing Baby Jesus are hidden inside of the rosca. Families gather together on the day of Epiphany and share this delicious bread, where everyone cuts a slice. If your slice of rosca has a baby Jesus inside, you have to cook tamales for the whole family on February 2nd for Día de la Candelaria.
Join us for a brunch that includes a slice of rosca from NORTE 54! https://www.norte54.com/
and a choice of cafe de olla or chocolate caliente
